Sunshine Visiting Physicians is pleased to announce that we have contracted with Florida Medical Center (FMC) to develop a fast track system in their emergency room for our hospital admissions. Currently, when an ALF or Group Home sends a client or consumer to the ER, the wait is long and difficult for the patient. 

A “ FastPass” system has been developed to move our clients to the front of the line for admissions and substantially decrease the wait time in the ER.  A copy of the Fast Pass Document is posted on our website under the Resources link.

Here’s how the new process will work when there’s a potential admission for FMC:

1. Notify our office of the client’s clinical condition and we will authorize transfer to the ER
2. Our office will complete the FASTPASS form and forward it to the ER registration desk.
3. Our office will call to insure the FASTPASS form has been received by the hospital.
4. Your client will immediately be placed on a fast track for evaluation, treatment and discharge from the emergency.
5. Once admitted, Dr. Daniel Reininger will attend to the client during the hospital stay to insure we are knowledgeable about the care being provided and they are discharged back to your facility.

We are aware that many of our facilities don’t use FMC as their local hospital. Our plan is to develop this FASTPASS program at FMC and duplicate it at other hospitals, within the other communities we serve.
